Luxi is committed to protecting your privacy and personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) of South Africa. This policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our platform and services.
We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, and payment details when you make a booking. We also collect location data for pickup and destination addresses, and technical data such as browser type and IP address for security and analytics purposes.
We use your information to process and fulfil bookings, communicate booking confirmations and updates, process payments and refunds, improve our services and user experience, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We share your information with selected service providers that support our platform and service delivery, including payment processors, identity and authentication providers, analytics and performance providers, email and notification services, and assigned chauffeurs for pickup coordination. We use contractual and operational safeguards where appropriate for those relationships.
We use essential cookies and similar browser storage technologies for site functionality, including locale preferences, authentication, and saving incomplete booking selections on your device. We also use analytics and performance tools to understand how the site is used and to improve reliability. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
We retain booking and payment records for the period required by South African tax and financial regulations. Guest access tokens remain valid until the expiry time issued for that booking, which may continue for a limited period after the booking service window ends. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us, subject to legal retention requirements.
Under POPIA, you have the right to access your personal information, request correction of inaccurate data, request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements), object to processing of your data, and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest, secure payment processing, and regular security audits. While we take all reasonable precautions, no system is completely secure.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date and version identifier. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
